National Southern Food Day

October 11, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The influences of southern food come from African, English, Scottish, Irish, French and Native American cultures. Many items, like squash, tomatoes and corn (including grits), and the practice of barbecuing, were influenced from the Native American Indian tribes such as the Seminoles, Caddo and Choctaw.

Some traditional dishes, such as fried chicken, came from the Scottish and many of the spices are of African influence. So come in today and enjoy some famous southern comfort food.
